Lucas Devroe

Lucas Devroe (Belgium 1996) studied choreography at the Fontys School of the Arts in Tilburg, NL. As a young maker he works from the concept of statements and intentions.

He investigates how the shape of the movement can be minimized and how he can strengthen the underlying intentions and statements. Central to this research is a unique body that experiences, feels and remembers. These experiences, feelings and memories ensure that we as humans are constantly in motion and enter into dialogue with each other. In this way Lucas tries to create other worlds with his work that can offer different perspectives about the norm of our society.
